What Customers Say About 2006 International Building Code: Looseleaf Version (International Building Code (Looseleaf)):

I also had a really hard time navigating through the table of contents and index to find specific things I needed. I ended up transferring the pages into a more compact binder. Thank goodness our instructor gave us detailed sections to study and highlight. I bought this book as a reference to take the California professional engineering exam (civil-seismic). I thought the binder edition would be great, but the binder it came in was about twice as big as it needed to be, which made it a pain to carry around to classes and the exam.
The soft cover bound edition does not offer that option. the Code is the Code, nothing to say about that, but I like the IBC as a loose leaf binder because you can pull out the ratings charts and review/cross-reference different sections of the code without hefting that cumbersome tome.
It's circular conditional process of determining code compliance is without doubt the most confusing edition of a building code ever adopted in the United States. The IBC Code is almost unintelligible.
It is a shame that they have tocharge so much for a book thatshould be almost free. the book is required for muchwork.
Like the loose leaf edition the only complaint is that the holes need to be a little bigger.
